Amelia River Golf Club stands out in North Florida for its meticulously maintained TifEagle greens, groomed fairways, and strategically challenging pin placements. Designed by Tom Jackson, the course plays to a length of 6,808 yards from the back tees, suitable for both novice golfers and those with single-digit handicaps. The par 72 layout presents a formidable challenge, inviting players of all skill levels to refine their game.

The course features 18 holes where precision and control are essential for success. The opening hole alongside the Fernandina Beach Municipal Airport, as well as holes #5 and #13, are notably wide and open, reminiscent of traditional Scottish links courses. However, the remaining holes introduce a variety of trees that not only enhance the aesthetic appeal but also necessitate careful shot placement.

A prime illustration of the course's challenges is the 6th hole. While the tee area offers a wide landing zone, players face an uphill fairway demanding a blind shot. Beyond the ascent, a cluster of trees on the left requires either a high trajectory or powerful strike to approach the green. Adding to this challenge are four strategically placed bunkers located at the front and left of the green.

The expansive greens and undulating fairways define Amelia River’s character. The par five 13th hole captivates with its serene beauty. In contrast, the par four 14th offers an enticing risk-reward scenario; water hazards extend from tee to green, compelling players to choose between a bold shot directly at the green or a more conservative approach to the right along the wider fairway, while three bunkers provide additional protection for the green.

Signature experiences continue with the par three 17th hole, which is encircled by water and requires an accurate shot to reach the island green. The course culminates at the final hole, beautifully situated at the edge of the Amelia River amidst its expansive tidal marsh.
